Treading lightly before opening up
Reeseville marsh, recently flooded. After having chased an excruciatingly slow WSOR train to Waterloo, I wanted to see something fast. I am not disappointed. Right as I pull over the bridge I see a train tiptoeing through the previously flooded marsh section. At first all is quiet, just the wind blows. Then, once clear of the marsh, the engineer throttles up. He even gives a little greeting as he passes under the bridge I'm on. The earth shakes. Then it gets quiet again. Just in the distance that lonesome whistle blows...
